Memories of past journeys

I didn't take any pictures yesterday. I sat over the computer for two days trying to find the photo I needed. Of course, I found out that I have a mess and I need to clean up. These is photo from 2006 when I visited a farm in Mazovia (Poland). The host cut out various scenes from the paper and the hostess rolled the paper in various flowers and other patterns. This village - Lipniki is famous for the production of Easter palms. They did all the things that are on display here. And they welcome guests in traditional folk costumes.
Very colourful!

Isn't it amazing what can be done with paper? Thanks for sharing.

I think it's grand that people will do that. The home is beautiful. I would think this would be an interesting trip.

For a moment I thought everyone was on their phones, then I realised they weren't! Nice image.

two days searching for a photo sounds frustrating. It might well be the same for me as I have no sensible filing system for my increasing data store. But fun to come across the old ones when searching, and to bring old memories alive. This must have been quite an experience to be steeped in Polish tradition on your visit. They look very content to be occupied in such creative fashion.

It's so colorful and the paper cutting and folding sounds beautiful. I can sympathize with hunting for a picture. I know I have way too many pictures! I haven't taken two days to find one, but there have been times when I've decided I'll just use another picture when I can't find the one I'm looking for. The worst part is knowing I have a picture of something but not being able to remember what year I took it. If I can't remember the date, then I can't find the picture!

Fascinating! Do you know the book Cuda Wianki by Marianna Oklejak? I feel like I have walked into the preparation for a scene from this book.

I know how frustrating searching for a photo is -- I am terrible about tagging my photos! But in these months I have been away from 365, I have been working on importing all my various digital files of the past into one Lightroom Catalog so let's hope I've taken the first step if the process of getting organized and that I will then go back and tag them over the winter.
