In the evening in the meadow

I was taking pictures of a meadow in the setting sun when a pair of goldfinches suddenly appeared. They sat on the stalks of the meadow thistle and ate the fresh seeds.

The thistles are such a lovely deep purple. Your goldfinches look nothing like they do here. But a great capture.
