Palm Sunday 1 by haskar

Palm Sunday 1

On Palm Sunday I was at the Museum of the Mazovian Countryside. The feast was established to commemorate Christ's arrival in Jerusalem and is celebrated very solemnly in Poland. Palm trees are made of various materials depending on the area. In Mazovia, made of blotting paper flowers, attached to a hazel (or young pine) rod, additionally entwined with blueberry, juniper and boxwood.
What a wonderful image!

Very interesting. Here, people buy the palms at Florist shop. The tradition says that goodmothers (chatolic) bring the palm to their godsons.

If the boy and his mother weren't coming out the door behind these two this shot would transport us to another time. But I do like the contrasting dress- great history lesson!
