Once upon a time, there was a primeval forest here. Oaks and hornbeams, along with ash, elm, and linden, grew here. Today, only a small patch remains. Magnificent English oaks, over two hundred years old, tower here above the dominant hornbeams, some of the most shade-tolerant deciduous species in the lower layer. It's a somewhat dark and mysterious forest, yet beautiful, with its own unique atmosphere.
