So the big brown basket sits under one of the end tables in the living room and is where we stash the endless amounts of Thomas trains and tracks that we have acquired. Usually it seems to have a cloaking device around it and the kids go past it as if it were not even there. Then every once in awhile - say every six months - it gets seen and pulled out like it is the most interesting thing ever. Thus "Train Day!" (Tomorrow it will probably be invisible again...) I know I'm a crank of a Mom but I usually am not thrilled with it - that is because I get stuck with setting up AND taking down the track. But today, the boys did a pretty good job of setting it up themselves! Sometimes the tracks even connected! (I still had to clean it up though...surprise!) I took this picture about 5 minutes before they started arguing about who had which engine - you know, because there is obviously a shortage...
I saw this thumbnail and even before opening up the picture I was smiling. Our twin grandsons in CA love their Thomas tracks and trains. They are three and have had them since they were about eighteen months. Every time we visit, the first thing every morning Grandpa has to set up a different layout, even before having my coffee. Each visit the layouts get bigger because of added tracks and accessories. And I can really identify with the arguing over which engine or car who has. LOL!! Thanks for reminding me with this pic.
Great shot :)
