A closer look at the handles of the doors to St. Paul's that I showed in yesterday's picture. I love the intricate metalwork. I'm not sure how old these are - if they are original to the church which dates back to 1871 - but they are gorgeous. I wonder if details like this are still considered in modern building? It would be wonderful if they were....

Lovely! Someone obviously cares for these handles. I saw your photo yesterday and thought the same about the paint work. I love detail photos like this.

On a trip to Guatemala, I took dozens of door handle shots. They are still some of the favourite photos in the collection. I really like the green on this one.

These are beautiful! I love the little details on old buildings--newer ones often don't have craftsmanship like this.

Like you, I love detail that was once a part of building designs. I'm not a very modern girl...I like "decoration"!
