We have a nosy little Red Squirrel that shows up near the bird feeders every once in awhile. He zips around at amazing speeds and is a lot of fun to watch. But I swear 9 times out 10 whenever I see him in the yard, pretty soon afterwards I hear the pitter patter of thundering little feet as something tears around inside the walls of my house. We have an old farmhouse with a fieldstone foundation so critters getting into the basement is nothing new. It’s keeping them out of the house proper that I worry about. So far this little guy hasn’t managed anything beyond a tour of the walls - and luckily he never seems to stay long. But every time I see him I feel like I need to prepare for the worst! 😳
