The Bridge Of Flowers by hbdaly

The Bridge Of Flowers

Massachusetts is not a very big state in the grand scheme of things. But there is a distinct difference in the feel of things from one end to the other. I live pretty much right in the middle so I am able to easily head in either direction to enjoy all it has to offer. Last weekend we headed out to the *almost* Northwest corner of the state - to the area surrounding the Deerfield River. It is a hidden treasure if there ever was one and has been a favorite of mine since college. On the way back home, we stopped in the lovely little village of Shelburne Falls. The town of Shelburne shares a pedestrian bridge (formerly a trolley bridge) across the Deerfield with neighboring town Buckland and they have turned the entire bridge into an absolutely lovely flowering garden. It’s aim is to promote peace and believe me, strolling across its beautiful expanse and taking in the views and all the wonderful colors did wonders for putting me in a peaceful frame of mind. Maybe we need to take this peace bridge idea Global! 😊
