Daring to cross the line

This week's 52 portraits theme is Strength. It takes strength to cross lines - whether they are imaginary ones, forbidden ones, cultural ones or physical ones.

My way is to tiptoe to the edge of the line and very slowly , tentatively test the ground on the other side, ready to withdraw at the first sign of trouble. But sooner or later, it is time to gather up full strength, put on the bold shoes, face up to the consequences and go with my convictions.

I was wearing my new bold shoes today.

love your new bold shoes! wonderful interpretation of this theme - very imaginative. i like that you're pausing, ready to tread a bit further, and now we know your bold shoes will be carrying you onwards :)

Good conceptual shot! There is a Cardinal outside my window right now that matches your shoes!

Love how you really get the sense of you stood on that line, waiting to gather up up courage.. You must have had your new bold shoes on when you bolted to the statue roundabout!
