Wind in the willows by helenhall

Wind in the willows

Saturday was exceptionally windy. There is plenty of debris in the parks and streets around, to testify for the battering taken by the trees. The horse chestnuts have shed their conkers somewhat prematurely and the local council had to remove around 20 fallen trees over the weekend.

But this willow is still standing. I tried to capture something of the sense of movement as the branches swayed heavily with the gusts. Another approach to this is seen in my main album where I have merged several shots.
This makes me think of the children's book, Wind in the Willows. Wonderful capture of movement.

Actually I like this one better. It still shows movement but all the leaves are well defined! fav

This is the one for me. You have communicated the sense of movement and the strong wind very well without losing the identity of the tree.
