Padlocks on Butterfly Bridge

I was feeling rather melancholic this afternoon as I stood on Bedford's Butterfly bridge on the River Great Ouse. The padlocks placed as a symbol of love between couples with the key thrown to the river, got me thinking about people locked in impossible situations and relationships, where there might seem no way out. And so, I offered a prayer for freedom, as symbolised by the butterfly wings of the bridge. An unlocking of troubles, and the freedom to fly and be beautiful, just as they were intended to be.
