I took off, undeterred by the dark grey cloud cover this afternoon, to unknown territory and in search of new material. A couple of miles beyond the Cardington Airship hangars I stopped to explore the Greensand Ridge walk but ended up being drawn into the adjacent wood which was full of bluebells. For two hours I wandered, to the tune of chirpy birdsong without seeing another soul. Finished culling my 100 photos down to about 20 that I am really happy with. I have chosen this one because it depicts the rain which was with me throughout.
There's something so dainty about bluebells, I think maybe they remind us all of our childhood? I think we have all picked them at some point! Lovely shot.
Beautiful shot and I love the way the raindrops sparkle. I remember the Cardington Airship hangars well, we lived at Henlow for a few years during our RAF days.
@paulmann thank you indeed. I found bluebells particularly difficult to caspture satisfactorily. They look so gentle and pretty in the woods but often just look a mess in the photo
@onewing it is a lovely part of Bedfordshire. I'm excited to try and catch new airships to be completed at the Cardington sheds shortly.thanks for your comment Babs.
@jeetee with the hedge opening up and the light behind, at last I could get the DOF right to leave the subject distinct from the background. Thanks for your comment.
