How many heron photographs can I fit into this project?
There is a particular spot where this heron likes to hang out, on the edge of a weir. The bridge allows the perfect viewing spot and lets just put it this way .... after 100 or so shots I thought it time for me to move on.
On my way to today's hospital procedure I saw someone setting up with tripod and bags of equipment and wondered whether the heron was around somewhere. I became distracted because the photographer was wearing a kilt and as I walked by he bent down to attend to some of his (photographic) kit. Protruding from the sides of his upturned head, I spotted two long curls of moustache and realised without a doubt that this was the very same amateur photograph enthusiast that a friend of mine had been describing that she worked with, just a few days ago.
Several hours later as I passed the spot again, my heron was waiting - it was my turn to be photographer. I pulled out my pocket camera and snapped away. I like this one with the moving water in the background, as the heron blends almost seamlessly into the water.
(I will be in trouble if you don't like it since it is not the one my son picked!)
Hope your hospital visit went well.
