I am pleased that my dancing poppies went down so well. As I said, it was just for fun because I was happy enough with several of the unadulterated versions. This one, was part of the make up for yesterdays composite, but pretty much as it came out of the camera.
I was hoping to catch the sense of movement, from the flower heads, and I think the blur turned out well. I just nudged it on a tiny bit more so as to be sure.
I will have to go back later and see if they survived yesterday's rain after all that wind.
Thank you for your kind comments - I'm open to criticism and suggestions too.
This is a wonderful exploration of motion and blur. Poppies are so fascinating and attract so many pollinators. There is something coming around at night and eating my new poppy buds that are getting ready to open. fav.
one cannot see poppies without thinking of summer crops or meadows.. your windswept poppies are truly delightful, as is the luminescence of the final image..
Slugs decimate my poppies, think i might try something else :-(
This is super Helen. Always fascinated by poppies from the start of their bud, the flower and then the seed head afterwards. Love the tones here - and the bokeh.
@helenm2016 mostly caught on camera Helen, what I added was negligible. I was hoping that this would happen, the poppies were moving so fast that even with a fast shutter speed, I thought there might be some sort of blur. So, the answer is luck!
