Abstract August 2 by helenhall

Abstract August 2

Enjoy the interplay between floor and wall. Spotted on the way home from work earlier in the week. No fancy edits required here for todays abstract offering.

After three hours editing and trying to order various photos on line, ready for the Palestinian culture exhibition here in Bedford, I have had it for tonight. No time to comment - so sorry. See you all again tomorrow!
I don't think I would have noticed this, well spotted

Cool abstract design, Helen!

Nice abstract- the pattern reminded me of a certain candy bar here- but of course this would be far more valuable if it was a bar of gold!

Beautiful...color, angle and running pattern.

Very attractive shot!

Really interesting abstract. I love the colour.

Love how the black and white squares POPPED into realization as a reflection of the floor.

Very abstract and the colour is so lovely.

Wonderful abstract - patterns within patterns :)

Great abstract Helen. The colours, shadows and patterns are intriguing.

Thank you @fotoblah for comment about the floor. I'd missed this but actually it's crucial to the overall brill effect

I love this! The angle, the colours and the reflections of the floor are fab!

it took a moment or two for me to let go of trying to focus my attention and then everything jumped into proper perspective and i 'saw' what you had photographed.. then i resorted to you narrative, in case i had read it incorrectly..
i think this image is absolutely brilliant and commend you for your ability to read it as you passed by.. the optical illusion will have been unnoticed and un-'seen' by the majority of the population.. i'm saddened i can give only one fav.. :-(

It took me a little while to understand this shot... I read your write up and wondered what you meant by floor and wall - I was looking for a reflection of the wall but couldn't see that and then I noticed the chequered flooring reflection in the wall bricks themselves! I mentioned already I am not an abstract fan, but I really like this! Fave.

@suzanne234 I was on the look out for something different Thank you.
@rachealspictures thanks for being interested enough to comment Racheal
@pistache thanks Clare - glad you like it
@jyokota thank you Junko. much appreciated.
@olivetreeann I don't know the candy bar. The tiles have a very prominent shape and 3-d effect to them.
@gardenfolk your observations much appreciated
@kwind thanks Kim
@onewing the colour reminds me of 1920s décor. May be it is that old.
@fotoblah I never saw how difficult it would be to notice exactly what it was - but yes you got it.
@janemartin Im glad Im getting to the abstract. Im told by husband and son that my abstracts are not so!
@m2016 thanks Mel. That is what drew me to it.
@flowerfairyann thanks Ann - a bit of a challenge to work out I think
@helenm2016 thanks for your comment - glad you worked it out (or maybe as an abstract you were never supposed to?)
@redandwhite thank you Catherine. So pleased to have your comment.
@jorlam my guess is that many a time there is need to 'resort' to my narrative. I write too much. If the photographs were good enough, I wouldn't need to write. Thank you, as ever, for your enthusiastic encouragement which always heartens me.
@dulciknit thank you so much Alison for visiting and adding your lovely comments.
@gaylewood Gayle - you are too generous. But I do enjoy the abstract challenge. Lets see if I am saying that by the end of August.
@stephanies thank you for persevering. I feel most honoured. The abstract isn't for everyone. For me it is fun and I love the detail and patterns and shapes so will often focus on a small part of a subject for this reason. Much appreciate your comments - especially from the perspective of a non-abstract lover.
