Even fear of the data police hasn't stopped me lining up another handful of abstracts today. Someone is going to have to take my camera away!
I loved the lines of the reflected railings here, they seemed to leave a trail - so I sprinkled a bit of colour along the trail, just to give it some emphasis, and then layered it with a cross-processed version (that photoshop feature where you play with moving some curves around a graph and stop when you like what you see!). May be a bit clumsily done, but the overall effect that I wanted is here.
A very abstract abstract, my very first thought was that you had done something with sheet music. Now I see the railings and the bricks, but only just! Job done I would say
oh now that's just delightfully abstract. a wonderful example of the power of colour and shape. i thought it might be a loom (which probably just goes to show how much i know about weaving ...)
could i please have a little more info about 'that photoshop feature' you blithely mention? i don't know it ... but i think i might like to
@pistache thank you Clare. Glad you like it - I'm looking under image adjustments - curves and then the cross-process preset. I have an old version of photoshop.
Clumsy or not it is very effective.. no idea of what you are talking about, re PS as i have LR and no layers, it's easier that way..
i like the railings, their patterns show up extremely well and i also like the PoV.. your yellow and brown/orange trails are fabulous and add yet another dimension to this great abstract image..
I'm enjoying seeing how you are becoming more confident in your abstracts as the month progresses. I really like the lines that appear to be the shadow of a wrought-iron fence. Nicely captured and processed!
@adayinmallacoota yes Belinda. Lots of fun but I think after a month I will be ready to stop. @kjarn@stimuloog not a great deal of editing - most of it was there in the shadow as seen. I just added the brown colour in a line of swirls and did a bit of blending. It would probably have been just as good without the editing.
@wenser thank you very much for your attention to my project Wim. @evalieutionspics from a designer, I take that as a great compliment. Thank you so much. @haskar cheers @moonmtn thanks Kahsia. @taffy yes I think that is the effect that the cross processing layer added. @redandwhite how kind of you to say so. @olivetreeann indeed, it is a wrought iron fence, and those lines are what really attracted me too. Thank you for your observations. @jorlam I only ocassionally say what I have done in PS as sometimes people find it interesting if they have the same software. Of course, I would have no idea if you told me what you had done in LR. Thank you for your generous comments and observations. It is very safisfying when another understands the same things that one has seen. @suzanne234 it made me smile that you saw sheet music. I would never have done so - but I do see what you mean. thank you for your comments. @flowerfairyann you are right, I am enjoying the freedom of the abstract challenge, but will be happy enough when it gets to 31 August and ready to try something different. Thanks Ann.
