I had 'earned' two free place on a chilli tour at a local chilli farm. I had never realised what a vast commercial enterprise there was in Bedfordshire, concerning the growing of chillies and making of award winning products. On Friday, I became a chilli convert.
Our tour was from a chef who gained enough trust to enable me to progress through the chilli tasting as far as the Caroline Reaper. Apparently, the worlds hottest chilli. I must have had the worlds smallest piece but I can assure you, it was enough to get the measure of it!
Part of the tour included a couple of minutes being loose in the pick your own area. So here are some from my goody bag.
The only problem is, I have forgotton which are the really hot ones. I do however remember which one to add to my G&T instead of a slice of lemon!
It is my understanding (if memory serves me correctly) that the smaller the chili pepper, the hotter. But I'm sure if you type in chili pepper identification and pictures in google, there will be several websites that pop up to refresh your memory and help you to know which is which.
Haha, pleased you have got your priorities right re the G&T garnish, (which I have never heard of before). I adore chillies, this is a lovely image of your goodies
Wow, so colourful - love the reflections and the composition too.. Love, also, the way you've placed the larger chillies - one cuddling the other, which appears to have a 'sad' face..
I really like this Helen - your composition and the variety of shapes and colours. Chillies seem to be the in-thing nowadays - I like to look at them but am not big on eating them. Fav.
