It feels like it is all down hill to winter. I always get hit by a sadness at this time of year. The path from September through to January is not one that I enjoy.
It has been a difficult time at work, with staff changes enforced by reduced funding.
But, I took pleasure this evening, in searching through photographs from all seasons to submit for a local competition to try and encourage people to see the beauty of our riverside and discourage them from littering it. I am reminded that there is beauty in every season.
Beautiful against the Black! I think photographers are more likely to see beauty because they are seeking it out. A line of trees, a rock face, a small child, an old man......etc! A lovely rose!
Beautiful shot. Know what you mean about feeling sad when winter is approaching, I used to feel the same when we lived in the UK.
It is so good to go out and look for beautiful things to photograph though when you feel a little down in the dumps.
This image is fabulous viewed on black, Helen! I like your focus, the water droplets, and the pink splotches. A beautiful fav for me! :-)
Yes, yes, yes! There is definitely beauty in every season! :-)
I'm with you on the winter coming. It use to not bother me so much, but there were days this past winter where I did not want to move. Having photography really helps. It makes you see the beauty in all the seasons.
I know where you are coming from with this particular change in season, at least now I have taken up the camera I will enjoy the beauty of it. This rose is so beautiful and an interesting pov
This is such a beautiful image. I have always loved fall and never much-minded winter. But I have not yet lived in a place that had dreary, cold, long-lasting winters. My attitude may change once we get back to the US and I am faced with just that situation.
The rose looks sad too with it's head hanging. But it is a very pretty little flower with it's frilly petals, almost like a tutu, and the water droplets are almost like tears. Beautifully shot against the black and a fav.
