Heads Down by helenhall

Heads Down

This was taken almost a week ago when the snow was first beginning to settle in Bedford. With the bright red coat standing out in the snowy white surroundings it was an obvious choice for use of selective colour. Everyone was heads down as the snow was falling pretty much horizontally which made it tricky for photography.

Strange, how even though we are well into March, my main album doesn't seem to have picked up much colour again yet after black and white February. All of the colour is being concentrated into my rainbow series in the other album.
Nice composition & good use of selective colouring

Works very well. Love the repeating lines.

Great how you solved this exercise - it looks natural. I guess this is my biggest problem with this week's challenge: for me, it often looks weird to see only one outstanding colour while the rest is b&w.

@toinette Oh I quite agree. I think it is a technique that only really works well for a small range of images.

The pop of red really works well in this photo! Terrific composition! I think I recognize that bridge from some of your previous photos. :-)

Perfect choice and I love all those reflections in the windows! I have had a hard time finding something that would sc this week...
