ice grotto by helenhall

ice grotto

Well almost a grotto - or so it seemed whilst crouched down on the icy edge of the lake and under the branches. I never saw such an icy display of stalegmites before.

Once again, I am picking from last weekends photos. I have been at work 12 hours today and have come home shattered after an evening session on GDPR. That would be, the new General Data Protection Regulations that come into force here in May. There will be lots of headaches for staff throughout the community and voluntary sector trying to get things sorted in time!

And there will be headaches for me if I don't get my act together and avoid staying up half the night.
Definitely some cold weather. I like your new profile picture.

Despite that it's cold I want to crawl inside and hide there. Lovely.

Really like this. The ice forms are great but I also love the bare branches with the little buds or seeds.

This conveys a strong sense of winter's cold, and a great sense of the ice formations - as fleeting as they may be. I think b&w was a good choice.

What a wonderful capture, and how amazing to see something like this. SO glad to see rid of the snow and ice but it sure did make for some amazing photo opportunities. This shot in particular looks just like a winter wonderland.
