Abstract 16 by helenhall

Abstract 16

I have taken the afternoon off work to prepare for a fundraising event at home tomorrow. Whilst baking scones, I had my mind on snatching an abstract thread which was meant to turn out very different to this. Oh well, the scones, at least, look perfect - even if I say so myself.

And I don't have time to revisit today's abstract which is also designed to remind you that there are all sorts of ways of photographing 'thread' for the macro challenge currently running -

Part of the plan, was to set the thread against a white background, as I was thinking about this week's challenge in the 52 week dogwood challenge.

Viewing on black recommended.
I'm guessing here.... is this the needle on the scales?

@janemartin great guess. But it is absolutely not!

This is striking Helen. Can't work out what it is though.

I have you to thank for getting lots of loose paperwork sorted out and muddles put away this afternoon. It started off as a hunt for my cross-stitch box and embroidery threads (for the macro thread challenge). Still not found but a tidier bedroom at least.

I was sure Jane had it! I'm not sure what it is but it's a striking image

@suzanne234 perhaps I will post the answer tomorrow,

My guess is that it's not necessarily thread (as in needle and thread). Sometimes when a line or something is extremely thin we say it's a thread of.... Here the thread seems to be the gap between two sections of a counter top or something like that- but who knows!! I'm looking forward to the answer. Great abstract!

@janemartin @flowerfairyann @suzanne234 @olivetreeann @domenicododaro @redandwhite thank you all for taking in interest as I work through the obscure month of abstracts. As there was some curiousity, my other album for this day, now shows the source of the abstract created above.

@flowerfairyann well the wonders of 365! So glad to have inspired you to do a bit of sorting. I hope you find that cross-stitch box in time to put in an entry for the challenge.

I would never have guessed this was treacle. So clever

@helenhall I wouldn't have guessed at all, this is so clever how you saw and cropped it from the original
