Having a full afternoon at my disposal (harrah!) I took myself off in the car armed with a guide book of outstanding circular walks in Bedfordshire.
The only thing circular about the walk, ended up bieng my retracing of ground in circles looking for the place where a 'broad grassy enclosed track meets a stony track at a foot-path post'. The broad grassy enclosed track was easily reached, but after an hour of circling the fields back and forth investigating options which might be a disguised stony track at a place where foot-path posts were clearly not encouraging the instructed turn 'right', I admitted defeat and resolved to find my own alternative way back to the car.
Not before first enjoying the open fields, the sun shine between gathering clouds, the birds chasing ahead of me in jumps along the hedgerow and the various seasonal berries and fruits along the way.
I tried several ways of presenting a collection of cloud shots against the stubble of the harvested fields, and for today, am enjoying this more subtle presentation. Best on black.
Hihi, I had this booklet of easy walks around Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudreath, but in Wales a lot of tracks are not maintained and I found myself more often than not 'lost', overgrown routes (read nettles to ;wade; through), no path at all. I ended up just using the OS map to find my way.
It looks so peaceful in this pale scene - but I guess you weren't feeling peaceful trying to locate that elusive path. You've got a lovely picture here though Helen.
@flowerfairyann Thanks Ann. I took a few photos I was pleased with, and I wasn't too stressed as I knew the way back and could vary the route a little to save completely retracing my steps. I would like to have done the circular walk though!
