Towards the end of our new year's day walk, we sat in waiting at the bird hide. Aside from the shoveler, and teal, there wasn't much to see, so I just took the view to keep myself occupied.
I am posting it for the technical challenge for week 51, which was exposure compensation. I find this difficult, because I never listen to the camera's view of what the exposure should be - I set it where I think it should be for the picture - in the knowledge that it is easy enough to increase the exposure in processing. I use spot metering, so that I always take a reading at the point where I know I might have the most difficulty adjusting the exposure post-capture. In this case, the sky. So, by my reckoning, there really isn't a lot of point in taking this challenge any further -unless, of course, I have missed the point.
That leaves me with just one of the 52 week challenges remaining. A self-portrait. Add this to the eight remaining self-portraits that I have from my 52 portraits of me challenge for 2018, and take a guess at whether I really am going to work my way through these!
