What on earth? by helenhall

What on earth?

We have folks round for dinner this evening, no wild parties but a pleasant way in to the new year. It might be, if I were to get on with the cooking. Really, I must.

Only I'm determined to post what I have, even though it isn't what I wanted. I was looking for something to do for the 'Look Back' week of the 52 week challenge. Looking back onto something that has been problematic for me photography-wise over the year, and seeing if I can improve on it. Well there are plenty of contenders but I decided that just being ready to close the shutter at the appropriate moment was one thing that I am not very good at. Even being there at the appropriate moment would be a good start!

Off I went to the local lake once more, determined to wait long enough and patiently for the Otters to appear and then to have my camera ready at the right place and time and on the right settings.

Ahem. This is all I came back with!

Hope you all have a happy introduction to 2019 and can't thank you enough for your continued attention to my efforts here.
Would be my luck too. Happy new year Hazel !!

Lovely water as he dives - how lovely to have Otters nearby. Third time lucky.

What a story this photo tells. At first I thought it was a mine in the water. That would give everyone a shock.

I have never seen otters in the wild so you are well up on me Helen. How exciting to see them and you do have photographic proof now. I think I waited over a year to get a decent shot at a pheasant, despite them being in the orchard each day. It's worth the wait though - good luck in the future.

I tried it too. And I caught nothing. Only traces on the water. Great shot.
