This week the theme for black and white photos is leading lines, and thankfully I have a few taken earlier in the month before I realised that we were sticking to a specific theme and so couldn't use before now.
Whist dashing around London last weekend, I spottted this subway between St Pancras and Kings Cross which I thought fit to try and capture. I was so intent on trying to make sure that the figures in the distance were suitably placed, that whilst I was aware of the man on the left walking into the picture and his black and white checked scarf, and had decided I was happy with his placement, I hadn't at all noticed his hair style. That came as a bonus when I viewed the file.
Great catch- in every way and so good in black and white! If I would offer just one suggestion- straighten the horizon- it'll just add a little more balance to the overall picture.
@olivetreeann thanks Ann. I really thought I had straightened it, it has taken me a long time to see it as not straight, - so difficult to know where the horizontal is. I couldn't do it in pic monkey, without chopping the chaps feet off, so went back to the original and have posted in my alternative album. Would be interested to know if you think that is straight now?
It looks straight to me. There is a white bar of something possibly a window frame on the outside that looks level. Good street shot. I’ve never come across this walkway when I have been at this station.
@followthatdreamphotography thanks for popping by with your comment. The walkway is heading towards Northern, Victoria and Piccadilly lines from St Pancras - if I remember rightly.
Great setting! The only thing that would improve this shot for me would be to see each person walking in the opposite direction! Don't you think that's a bit picky? I think its because in the old days we would have few qualms about taking a shot of people who can see what we were doing. Having them walking away makes me feel that we are scared or ashamed of doing so
