I was struggling to find anything approaching indigo when I took a set of images for this week. So I started to mess around with changing colours in processing … which led me to next week's set of images which I have been messing around with today.
Never have I been so ahead of myself on a theme - but I really don't get time in the week to do anything like this so it is the only way.
So, for today's indigo, I had to persuade the distinctly blue beads in the necklace to become more indigo coloured (whatever that really is) by boosting up the red tones just a little.
Nicely done- I was pushing the color to indigo myself on today's shot. The way I've always perceived it is that indigo is a very deep very dark blue (the original color of blue jeans not today's assortments of blues and other colors). It seems it's been pushed more into the purple range now but in my art classes back in the day it was obviously blue- but dark- even darker than navy blue. All that being said- I think you've done a good job coaxing out the modern interpretation of the color here! Nice shot.
@olivetreeann Oh I agree that this is a bit on the purple side and not dark enough - similar to last weeks offering. Not by design, just the best I could get.
@helenhall I think the definition of indigo has broadened so this is good! It was hard to convey that in my rambling thoughts! Sometimes and idea strikes me and I just start typing!
This is a lovely shot. Everyones interpretation of Indigo is different but according to Dr Google it is one quarter purple and three quarters blue or halfway between blue and violet. @olivetreeann
