For now I am following your good advice and starting from where I am.
Managed to walk home along the river after work today and watched two Canada geese protect their handsome brood for a while in the grass, before marching them to the edge of the water and leading them in. This little one was very reluctant to follow.
The hardest thing to snatch a composition whilst the many are moving around, and I totally failed to have the exposure time short enough to account for the speed with which they were moving. So, there have been a great many deletes. If only I had been quicker off the mark, at first I didn't see the brood as they were gathered under their mother's wing. What a beautiful sight it was when she stood up to reveal ten or so little ones raising their heads and rising to their feet.
so cute - and sometimes the blur adds to the charm of the images. One shot of pure blur of ducks feeding that was on here made the BBC Wildlife calendar a few years back
Good to see you back after your trip to foreign lands.
