Next up in my mini insect tour is this horrible house fly. There is nothing kind that I have to say about the house fly and when I find them in my home I work myself into a panicked frenzy. Outside, I am happy to let them be, but I know that they are going round picking up germs ready to bring in to my house when I am not looking.
It is not that my home is a hyper clean, germ free environment, far from it, but more that I imagine this species to be permanently and deliberately on the attack.
This one got its photograph taken because I couldn't find much else to photograph on the insect front.
I agree with you, I hate them in the house but luckily for me I have two cats who are experts at catching them, so they don't usually bother me for long.
Also, I'm quite happy to watch and photograph them outside too.
Great focusing in this shot, I can count all the hairs on his back and legs ......not that I have done ;-)
As well as occasionally spreading the odd bacteria, they do get rid of a lot rotten, rancid, smelly, germ infected, carrion and unwanted food waste.
Almost the ultimate re-cycler !!!
New life from the dead !!
Wow this is an amazing close up. I don't know how you manage to get such a clear shot. Whenever I try and get a photo of any insect they fly off before I can get close. Probably our insects move quicker because it is hotter here or maybe it is just that I am getting slower. fav
