Blossom by helenm2016

Blossom

Encouraged by feedback on my attempt at framing the City of London in the branches of a tree from a couple of days ago, this is an attempt at reverse framing (if there is such a thing) in that the frame is behind and the subject in front. No idea if it works but it was fun to try and the blossom is beautiful
Spring has sprung! Effective contrast against the branches and good exposure too.

@helenm2016 You did say you just bought yourself a "decent" camera. let me assure you you have the best "enthusiast" DX DSLR on the market. I shoot with its predecessor, the D7100 which is also a fine camera, two years older in technology though. I am saving up my pennies to buy the new "top of the line" DX camera, the Nikon D500 when it comes on the market. I think i will that is...

All the best.

That's great to know. I've been really pleased with it. I like that it has two separate dials for adjusting aperture and speed - not all the cameras I looked at had that. I know I've only scratched the surface of its functionality so far, so there's plenty of learning, playing and practising ahead. Thanks for taking the time to write. And keep saving!

@helenm2016 I don't know if you like to read books about cameras and such, but an excellent one for this camera is http://www.amazon.com/David-Buschs-Nikon-Digital-Photography/dp/1681980304/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458832432&sr=8-1&keywords=David+Busch+D7200
Everything you ever wanted to know about the camera, and I think well written and easy to read. From a very respected author.

@frankhymus I have a book on composition which I'm enjoying http://www.amazon.co.uk/Photographers-Eye-Composition-Digital-Photographs/dp/1905814046/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1458834870&sr=1-1 but nothing at the more techy end of the spectrum. The book you've recommended is available in the UK and it looks very good so I might well get it. I have a gift voucher to use up so would be a perfect buy. Thanks very much for the lead - really appreciated.
