We have a lovely old black poplar in our back garden. It comes into leaf late in the Spring and only has small pale green shoots still. A few years ago we had to have a lot of the biggest branches removed to make it safe, and this is a much smaller version of the original giant. We were sitting in the conservatory last night after dinner and suddenly noticed the dying rays of the sun catch the poplar with radiant golden light. It glowed just long enough for me to run and fetch the camera.
Oh wow...I can see you sitting there all relaxed and then you notice this photo op and up you jump (scaring your family in the process...) grab your camera and then out the door you run ....hahaha...well worth it! Glad you got there in time ;-)
