I've not had a moment of madness and bought another collie dog! The one on the left of the picture is Pip. She is the sister of my pair and belongs to my good friend who lives a few doors away. All three came from the same litter and we got them at the same time so they've grown up together. Pip often joins us for a walk.
I know I'm always whinging about Cambridgeshire being flat but there are a few little hills, like this ridge between Eversden and Wimpole. Today the weather was typically British; flipping between thunderous skies and biting cold to bright warm sunshine and back within the space of an hour. Not that these three care what the weather is like, as long as they get to run and run and ruuuuuun.....
yes, we were nearly at the end of a long walk here and they had just come flying up that hill behind them - amazingly all came when I called them, but Pip is the most obedient one - you can see she's standing there waiting eagerly for my next command - not like my two! Especially Maia, hanging back, waiting to see if it's worth bothering to see what I want this time!
I'm chuckling that this picture looks like one of those where you photoshop one dog three times! And yes, stop "whinging" about your countryside! One of the first things I noticed was how beautiful it looked in the distance! Lovely area...and you're safely home and enjoying it! (...I say as I wrote you from the airport...I'll be on planes all ay getting to Halifax before midnight... See you from there in the days ahead!)
Helen, I just love this picture. The countryside is so inviting. And the three dogs add so much charm. I think it's wonderful that all three are from the same litter and still get to hang out together on occasion.
adorable dogs. great shot of them, helen. i am jealous of your novel project. i write a lot but they're mainly my thoughts. i might try to force myself into a wirting 365ish just because i love it but don't have the time or don't feel inspired enough. i forgot about enid b. i read that, too, as a child. good luck on your project. do you have any published work?
