Definitely Not A Bluebell by helenmoss

Definitely Not A Bluebell

Spurred on by recent photos of Cornish and Shropshire bluebell woods, I went off in search of what Cambridgeshire has to offer. This morning I took the dogs to Gransden Wood, which is an ancient woodland, now managed by the Wildlife Trust (I kept the dogs on leads in the wood, just in case anyone from the Wildlife Trust is reading this). At the end of a lovely walk, knee-deep in bluebells, we came across a small clump of wild orchids - I think they are Early Purple. So, although this was meant to be a bluebell-only picture, I couldn't resist posting this photo of the orchid instead.

It must seem as if I spend my entire life walking the dogs through lovely countryside in the sunshine! That's only partially true. I spend the other half sitting at my computer, writing, and that would make for very boring pictures. Oh, and the other half ( I know, I'm up to three halves now!) doing Mum-stuff.
Mums need three halves! (I'm fond of saying that I need a wife!) Lovely photo!

Beautiful colors, love the depth to this shot too. I want to walk right into the frame and explore those trees.

Blue bells & Purple orchids -- you have made a fantastic combo; love it. The color is great.

Looks beautiful, must be great to be one of those dogs, just get up and get taken out to woods and fields all the time, well a THIRD of the time at least!! 3 halves, even I know that's just not possible!!

I know, they have such a tough life. They're sitting at the bottom of the stairs at the moment looking reproachful as I've not taken them out yet this morning. I thought I'd try to get some work done first for a change - - if they knew how to use the phone they'd be onto the RSPCA by now!
