Country Living

Will had a cricket match in Ashwell this morning. It's an idyllically scenic village just over the border into Hertfordshire. I walked the dogs for the first hour, enjoying the beautiful old buildings, well-tended flower gardens and rolling countryside. Even the cattle looked extra plump and sleek. My favourite thing about this picture is the cow swishing her tail happily as she grazes! I couldn't help wondering whether there were any dark secrets lurking beneath the surface of this perfectly groomed village (perhaps I've watched Hot Fuzz too often!)
Oh, and they won the match!
The cow with her backside to the viewer really brings out the old country feel to this pic. Love it!

Well done Wills ,and well done Helen. looks as though the cows could get into the garden, or is there a ha-ha ? lovely house.

Beautiful shot. I agree with everyone else, typically English. I double checked as I thought ha-ha as well but there is a fence there.

Love how the cow is so close to the house...and I had to laugh at Diana's question about whether there is a ha-ha...if I hadn't taught 4th grade for 10 years and gone to visit George Washington's home in Mount Vernon, Virginia, I probably would not have known what she was talking about, but I do :-)

Mmmm, it does all look a little bit too good to be true doesn't it? Just noticed there are other cows lying down...Oh yes Hot Fuzz, 'for the greater good' yes something like that could very well be happening here-ha ha!!
