I've had a lovely birthday! We've spent the day doing jobs in the garden and at the fields - including relocating our gosling from his chick box to the run with the ducks (the boys named him Fumbles in the end, but thankyou for all the suggestions, btw). This evening we went to Grantchester - of Rupert Brooke fame - and the boys and dogs swam in the river - we have a Spanish exchange student staying with us at the moment - Jorge is 14, same age as Ed, and Ed will go and stay with his family in Gijon in September. Jorge bravely jumped into the icy cold water, even though the weather isn't even warm by Spanish standards!. Walking back along the river, we came across this artist, painting a lovely picture of the scene (including people punting on the river in traditional Cambridge style - you can just see one of the boats behind Wills' left ear!). Lots of children, including Will, stopped to watch, and he was very kindly answering all their questions about how he went about painting such a cool picture. Now we're finishing the evening with a BBQ and elderflower margheritas!
happy birthday, wish we could have spent it with you, love your picture in picture, glad you have had a lovely day. look at my pic for today it's for you.
Oh, Happy Birthday to you, Helen!!!!! Sounds like quite a busy day...how interesting that we both had a river picture today! If I were in your "neck of the woods" I would definitely stop by for an elderflower margherita...I do enjoy a good margherita...but never had such a special one as yours sounds...would you share the recipe...or would I not be able to find elderflowers...unless that just means old people flowers and then I think I can find some!!! LOL
Happy Birthday From Australia - I have just popped in on my way to check something. You sound like it has been a wonderful day and I am intrigued by that margherita???? Great to see an artist and have him a kindly person to answer all questions.
Happy Birthday!! Sounds a lovely day, bet Fumbles enjoyed it too meeting up with the ducks! This looks such a tranquil spot, the artist is doing a good job entertaining all the kids!! Those margheritas sound tasty!
The painting looks very nice!
