It's five oclock. It's been a busy day but now I'm lying in the long grass reading the paper and listening to crickets chirping, bees buzzing and, a little way off, the sound of Will and his friend constructing yet another den, this time around the old ash tree in the middle of the field. And up above the sky is doing this! Intense blue and marshmallow clouds - although one cloud looks as though it may bring rain later - and a splendid sun beating down.
School is almost over for the summer. Ed finished today. Will's last day is tomorrow...holiday time!
