Retro Bulrushes

Will and four of his friends set off to do their 8 mile hike for scouts - with lots of careful map-reading, a few phone calls and even the use of a compass, they made it round with only a few minor detours. Meanwhile Ed and I walked the dogs. We walked beside a dyke on the edge of the fens where these beautiful reeds and bulrushes were growing. When I uploaded this picture from the camera it suddenly reminded me of the pattern on the crockery that Grandma used to have. I looked it up and it's called Riverside - it features a bulrush, a dandelion and some leaves and the green is very like the shade in the picture; very 1950s, very retro!
Cool shot. I like the different focus point.

I've never seen "Riverside" crockery - but I can just imagine it, given your pretty picture.

How cool that you found something in nature to almost match your grandmother's crockery.
