I took this yesterday but the poor little ladybird was usurped by the anniversary shot. I was walking the dogs near Hardwick after a quick trip to the vet for kennel cough vaccination (them, not me) and suddenly realised that there was some kind of International Ladybird Convention going on. They were everywhere! This one landed on my hand and didn't seem in much hurry to go anywhere. It's a little challenging to take your camera out of your pocket, switch it on and take a picture with one hand, but not impossible - and a skill that could come in handy if yesterday's picture is an omen of things to come and I do lose an arm at some point (I just remembered a form teacher when I was in 4th year at school who used to make us practise writing with our non-dominant hand, just in case of an accident - talk about being prepared!)
Ladybird, Ladybird, fly away home, your house is on fire and your children have flown. I always thought that nursery rhyme was a bit macabre!
Great practice your teacher gave you,I guess?I've heard that using another hand to do things that you normally do with the other is a good exercise to the related side of your brain.
What an awesome shot...this "lady" looks like a giant against the background...you make a pretty darn good one-armed photographer, Helen...not to mention you could have a 2nd career as a stand-up comic! lol (I just love your sense of humor!)
I thought these were a pair of feet!
