I thought my september calender needed a bit of colour so took photos of the bright red hawthorn in the hedgerow this morning . They didn't come out very well so have picked this one I too the other day instead. I liked the contrast of the red berries, green leaves and the gold of the long dry grass behind. Hm, looks a bit Christmassy!
I agree, that's a lovely bush...and if we can't have summer, well, *bring on Christmas*! The golden grasses in the background make a nice setting for now, but won't this look fabulous against a blanket of snow?! By all means, let your son, the pastry chef, know I was duely impressed with his culinary skills! Your picture (and that tart) looked worthy of Barbara Harris' talent, and I don't think she'd mind me saying so!
