I cycled into Cambridge this morning with my usual shopping list of random items. Today's included presents for Ed to take with him for his host family when he goes on his Spanish exchange trip next week. This is why I found myself browsing in the Gift Shoppes along Kings Parade, rubbing shoulders with the tourists, looking for some suitably English items. Just to blend in with the crowds, I whipped out my camera. Several shops and cafes use bikes outside for their advertising, and I decided to take a picture of this one which is such a beautiful pale green. The reflection of Kings College Chapel in the window was a bonus! One tin of shortbread, a Union Jack coffee mug and a jar of Colman's Mustard later, and it was Mission Accomplished and time for lunch. I was tempted by the Fish And Ips, but opted for a sandwich instead!
Ah the Copper kettle!- This use to be one of my regular haunts back in the 80's. It use to be run by an Italian family, brothers who were very friendly and welcoming, and it was a great place to have a capaccino and to relax from shopping. I like the fact that they have gone into the delivery business in such a dinky way! Great pic and thanks for the memories.
This is such a lovely photo. I have never seen the bike before. I sometimes meet my daughter there for breakfast at a weekend. Such a lovely location outside Kings College.
