Will and his friend Hugh had a joint birthday party today. We took them and six of their friends bowling, then came back to our field for a massive BB gun game, then a campfire with whole trouts and damper bread. Before they settled down for the night in their tent we lit two Chinese sky lanterns and set them off - it was very beautiful, especially as it's a clear night with full moon and lots of stars. Will they get any sleep tonight, I wonder? No doubt they will be at the door bright and early for the pancake breakfast I promised them in a moment of madness!
Yin, I thought of you when we were sending this skywards!
Sounds as though those boys had great fun , so glad the weather was ok. The lantern shot reminds me of the ones we had at Richards . Btw how many pancakes did you make ?
Ah,Helen,I've been thinking about you and the sky lantern too!!
Check out my friend Alex's (the last one) comment on my lantern video. The day after the mid-autumn festival, repot here said a sky lantern fell on a train and caused an evacuation during the festival. One more case happened after that on another train.
A friend who's an electrician also had to clear up a sky lantern after the festival as it was stuck in a wire...
Only just seen this as am a few days behind, what a fun packed day those boys all had....lanterns are lovely! I have just put my picture on for today with the very same heading!!
