Last night I had a lovely get-together with four of my closest friends. We congregated over a bottle or three of wine, put the world to rights and laughed a lot. Time flew. I arrived home a little later than planned and was greeted with "What time do you call this?" and "Very poor time-keeping!" from my 14 year old son. Luckily he was joking - after all, the friend's house where we met was only five minutes away at the other end of the village and he's far too chilled to waste his time worrying!
As I went off to sit on the Naughty Step for ten minutes, I decided to take a photo in the hall mirror. I liked the way the background is so dark. All you can see is the snare drum of Will's drum kit. It has to live in the hall so it is easy to transport to band practise every week; we got fed up of lugging it up and down stairs to his room!
What fun to read that, though a world apart, we were congregating with friends over a glass of wine, sharing a similar day. To avoid being admonished, I just brought one of my friends home for the afternoon & evening, and we let Ken in on our girl-talk. How nice you saw the photo possibilities in your hall mirror while having your time-out!
I love this picture of you and agree...such a lovely subject you are shooting there. :) The dark background and sweater are perfect as if set up by a studio photographer for portraits. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like you had lots of fun like taking your selfie. HA to your son! I used to get the inquisition going out the door from mine but now that we all have mobiles my children seem to have relaxed a lot (not that I go out ha!)
Ahhhhhhhhh, to be naughty! Sounds like you had a great time and that you have a clever son. Your selfie proves you used your 10 minutes of reflecting time on the "naughty step" very well. LOL!
Its a great shot and love the expression - you would not think you had consumed copious amounts of wine, but then again...you did get the courage to take a self-portrait...
