Today we put up our Christmas Tree - with the traditional Phil Spectre Wall of Sound Christmas CD playing in the background. I love tree decorations and my collection is getting a bit out of hand now - I especially like bird decorations - there are four in this picture (the flat red bird shape hiding in the tinsel at the bottom is a very old one that grandma gave me. The pretty red-painted egg is one of a set of six which I love because it reminds me of that wonderful visit to Prague Christmas markets with Mum and Jane - years ago now - let's go again soon!
I have a sneaking feeling that the tree would look more stylish with a little more minimalist restraint. But the smothered-with-stuff look wins out yet again!
Don't you love that moment when you open the box and there they all are...all those memories and familiar things.....sometimes sad, some happy. What a great sound track to used....we have that somewhere..love the look of your decorations. Are you Diana's daughter?
@Cherrill yes! Snowy is my Mum (as in Diana, not Snowy the jack russell!) We are one big happy 365 family - my sister (janeterry) and sister in law (mem moss) are also here!
Well I had thought so for quite a few months but it seemed rude to ask!! The only reason why I ask now is that I have told your mum quite often how much I love her/your home and her taste. Now I see it here in your lovely decorations. Hope this is not too personal! :-)
Ooo how nostalgic Its one of my favourite times of Christmas decorating the tree,. Yours always looks wonderful, glad to see you have still got the old ones , and yes it was a very special time we spent in Prague
Wow love this gold bird! We did our tree today also, and unwrapped all the lovely Prague decorations, ( yes we must return!) now I'm sitting in Santa's grotto, as you will see very soon!!!
@Cherrill - thank you for your very kind comments - yes, Mum always makes their house look lovely - she has much more patience and flair for that than I do! And no, I don't think it's too personal at all, it's very nice of you!
We have lots of fun too putting up our Chritmas tree, we also put up the lights outside our house, listen to Chrissy music and pull out all the Christmas movies to watch over the comming weeks. Our Chritsmas Tree Day also include a special dinner of bruchetta followed by raspberry triffle.
