It was bitterly cold and welly-wodgingly muddy when I walked the dogs this afternoon near Hardwick. But I was mollified by a shell pink sky with lavender grey clouds wafting about in front of a pale gold sun.
Then I noticed the blob.
You can just see it to the right and below the sun. It was there for at least half an hour, fluttering slightly in the distance but not moving far. It was too still for a hot air balloon or a kite or a bird, too high for a balloon. Then I noticed a second one further along. A fleet of small UFOs hovering in a slightly indecisive fashion? Full of extra-terrestrials arguing over who missed the turn for London, and whether they should go back and ask for directions or improvise and declare South Cambridgeshire as their base for the take-over of planet earth? Will we ever know?
Looking at this on my daughter in law's computer, I couldn't see the blob for the spots on the screen (two preschoolers you know) andyway I found it. I love your craetive explanation. Beautiful capture of the sky and landscape.
Didn't realise 'blob' was on your pic and tried to wipe it away from your perfect shot :-D. then I read your text to realise that you were referring to this tiny dot - I would say I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't said something, but actually I wouldn't have noticed it if the picture were so darn lovely that even a dot needed to be removed. Since you have caught a UFO on film it is an essential nd interesting part of the pic!
