I'm celebrating finishing my current writing project by doing some re-organising in my home office. First on the agenda was buying a comfortable chair and a footrest as my desk is slightly too high. I headed out to Staples, made some successful office furniture purchases and browsed the shelves - you can never have too much stationery.
On the way home I got stuck in an endless queue of stationary traffic on Newmarket Road. I had plenty of time to appreciate a collection of street art by a group called Blight Society, including this mad scientist. Newmarket Road is a rather unattractive, neglected corner of Cambridge and this graffitti definitely brightened up a gloomy brick wall.
I was stuck in that queue yesterday - I didn't feel much better when I got to the sign that said, 'we've finished & will get round to fixing the road'. I spent the wait wondering where to park to get good pics of the graffiti but you did a great job from the car!
PS Adam says this is by his graffiti teacher (yes he had one!) and his old graffiti club - and the boy's face made out of stripes is by a boy at school - I can't believe that people complained when they gave the wall over to the writers - it was so ugly before!
