This afternoon we heard Storm barking in the kitchen. We found him staring at the clock on the wall - we've just moved it there from another part of the kitchen. It has a big second hand that ticks round with a little judder and click and that big collie brain must have processed it as the twitch of an insect. He barked and howled and paced until in the end we took i the clock down.
Maya came in to see what her brother was making so much fuss about, took one look and padded away. You could see her roll her eyes and hear her thinking "It's a clock, Storm. Get over it!"
Of course, he could just have been trying to tell me it was time to go for our afternoon walk...
