But then, it doesn't say how long it will take for the response to come. Or what it will be when it does come. So maybe it is on its way. I am agog.
I came across this sign at the edge of a small wood while walking the dogs near Bourn today. It was on this little post under a tree and there was absolutely nothing anyway near it to indicate what it was doing there. Perhaps it's an art installation? Perhaps this tree is the home of a rather elderly (and unusually literate) squirrel who's not quite as nimble at scampering down the trunk to meet his guests as he used to be and has installed this polite sign to let them know he's on his way?
What a wonderful find! I love strange quirky unique things like these... And I absolutely love your caption - one can tell that you're a writer and like to tell stories :). I should read one of your books some day - I love children's books and what I was too shy to admit to you in person - I'm secretly dreaming of writing a children's book as well some day, so you're my role model ;).
How odd & very intriguing ! What funny things some people do & there must be a story behind that ! An old bicycle bell & a very carefully made sign...stranger & stranger !!
@judithg The Faraway Tree was definitely my first thought too! But I checked and the tree was only a scrubby little thing - more a bit of hedgerow really, so I don't think it can be...
Oh, what a fun find...was this the first time you walked that way? It makes me think maybe it's a message from God...and of course, you need to be patient...and listen carefully....(though of course, why would God need to post a sign....well, it does make one think!)
(And I'm hoping both you and Mom will come up with a funky photo to share, too!)
