Dive in.....

Well, I guess it is best to wait a while before trying the diving board. We're having the most wonderful weather at the moment... hope it lasts. BTW. it is amazing how noisy the ice is.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my "maritime" shots yesterday.

Very nice sharp colors! It's great how the dark water brings out the different thickness levels of the ice.

I would like to borrow some of your amazing sky please to replace the rather drab skies we have here at the moment and you've got me thinking about how to depict 'noisy ice' in a photo!

There are some lovely dark tones that balance the bright blue sky.

This is a spectacular shot, and I love the pine tree. The colours are amazing and so is the icy water!

It does look lovely. Wonderful colours and I love the view, with the icy lake, the nice tree and the distant mountains.

Send some lovely weather this way in time for the weekend please!

Wonderful shot. Love the diving board over the ice and the great composition. We're in the midst of a very hot summer down here in Australia so I need some of this to cool me down.

Beautiful shot Helge - the blue sky, the tree, the water - such a great composition. The ice is noisy?! Sort of creaky noisy?!

What a perfect week you have!

@nairda @filsie65 Adrian /Phil When the surface of the ice gets so large as this, it will crack (sometimes a low rumble like an explosion, sometimes like a whip), and it will squeek. But there is another sound that I find very difficult to explain.... it is a bit like ricosheting bullets in old western movies only lower frequencies

@girlie Robin, thank you for your kind comments and your FAV. We could need some of that Australian heat up here... it's been quite cold for a while now (not used to that here on the coast)
