Marcescence by helstor

I learned a new word today!

Marcescence is the term used to describe the retention of dead leaves on deciduous trees through the winter. Certain tree species show this characteristic more commonly; oaks, beeches, hornbeam, and witch hazel

This is not the same beech tree I photographed on January 12th ;-)
good for you. and you did buy the lens, didn't you?

Blimey Helge your English is amazing! I learnt a new word today too... Marcescence. I'll test my 'natural sciences university student' daughter and see if she knows it too! Apart from that it's a lovely shot, light and colour balanced beautifully :)
