We were going to a meeting 5 miles away and ran into 7 scenes like this on the way. The damage to surrounding areas was much worse than I originally thought. Thankfully the injuries to people and pets were few.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...

Wow Harry! We had a windstorm a few years back that made our neighbourhood look pretty similar. Took down a lot of the old growth trees in Stanley Park too:(

I have to agree, we all were really fortunate as far as injuries and deaths went. And we also don't have a bad scene that they have in VT, and in some parts of CT, just an hour or so from here, So glad it's basically over now though. :-)
