I have been able to trace back to my immigrant ancestors to the United States except for one great-grandparent - Thomas Francis Braham. He says in censuses he was born in NYC in 1849 and both of his parents were also born in NY. So trying a new approach using DNA to see if I can find out more. Hence a new beginning in my genealogical quest.
Retired educator - taught mathematics in high school, went back to graduate school, worked in research labs, and finally went back and taught computer science...
Lovely shot and composition. I guess it takes a lot of time to do something like this. I have known you researching for quite some time. I have always wanted to do something similar especially after a few years ago I saw a register of deaths in Sicily with two men having their surname Giorgio who died during during WWI.
Lovely shot! Good luck on your research. My dad and I do genealogy, too. I got him hooked several years ago. He's retired and goes to the library daily. I photograph tombstones and reach out to distant cousins that I find along the way. It's a project that you never really finish. :) I'm doing my first Dogwood Challenge this year!
I did a dna test a while back and found it fascinating. Turns out I have a new cousin in America (who also did the test) who never knew even his father's name... now he has a photo of him and a new family. (long story). Look forward to seeing what you find out. Oh - and love the tree outline btw :)
